*** N1 Lunar Mission ***

This addon reproduces the CCCP proposal for a manned mission to the Moon in the 60s. It consists of a three stage N1 rocket, a Block G for lunar transfer, Block D for lunar orbit insertion and braking stage, LOK Orbiter and LK lander. Upon separation of LK or LOK (pressing J) you may need to switch focus to each vessel (pressing F3) to have control of each one. The LK lander can deploy/retract the landing structure pressing the K key. Once landed and in order to proceed with the ascent stage, press J in order to get rid of the extra weight of the landing structure, this will make the ascent easier. Docking/undocking is performed by means of custom Orbiter procedures, no specific code is involved, therefore it can be triggered pressing CTRL+D.

*** Installation ***
Unpack to the ORBITER folder. Make sure that the option "Use folder names" is ticked in WinZip, so the directory structure will be kept.

This addon designed for Orbiter build 030303.

Thanks to ObiWan, missleman and VF2_Rolf for their feedback and their suggestions. This addon is still in progress so a good number of improvements are already on the drawing board. If you have any suggestion feel free to drop me an email.

*** Version 1.07 ***

This version features a brand new guidance algorithm for the ascent stage written by Richard Croy. The source code is also included as per his request, so it can be of help to others working on similar projects. You can engage the algorithm pressing O while still in the launchpad, and it will switch on engines and take you to the intended orbit. In case you desire an orbit inclination other than 51,63 degrees, you can check the table included in the PDF file available at the Soyuz I addon and adjust the HEADING in the scenario file accordingly. Please note that the algorithm will only work with a range of initial headings and with the initial longitude of Baikonur. The setpoint for inclination can be adjusted before launch by pressing U, the current setpoint for inclination can be viewed before launch by pressing CTRL+U

*** Version 2.01 ***

Fixes maby bugs in code..

 - mass of fuel in LK was 15300 - unreal! Change to 5300 as was in v 1.07
 - save parameters for LOK was only configuration (LOK at Sun after load scenario!) - fixed
 - number and positions of engines on 1st stage corrected to real N1 rocket (24 radial + 6 central)
 - LK decsent stage configuration included in scenario
 - chemical or nuclear parameter of 3rd stage included in scenario
 - LK decsent stage separation at moon after "J" fixed (was a "jump" after start)
 - desire inclination set was restored, input - "U", to see - "CTRL-U", values: 47.01 - 55.99 (Baikonur)

*** Version 2.02 ***

Autopilot program corrected. SRM thrusters added to land capsule.

*** Version 2.03 ***

 - autopilot status included in scenario
 - Soyuz guidance algorithm fixed (~90 deg. True Course error fixed, arcsin(>1) fixed),
   no more "jumps" at LEO

*** Version 2.04 *** (20.02.2007)

 - visibility of "Touchdown speed" fixed. Now you can see the "softness" of your landing :)
 - air-foils of Decsent Stage is modified : now the automatic balance is tuned to reentry angle 1 degree
at 100km for maximum 3g landing... relax and enjoy! :) No more ballistic 10-15g!
